Everett Brothers Engineering

Everett Brothers Engineering was founded by Brian and Bernie Everett in 1975, to repair agricultural machinery. Thirty six years later, Everett Brothers have thriving markets world-wide and a growing reputation for innovative, high quality carrot handling systems.

Carrot Topping System

Thorough research for an effective carrot topping system, led the Everett Brothers to a French agricultural exhibition where they were inspired by French manufacturer; Simon. A demand for larger machines was recognised in the UK market and this led to the creation of a four row self propelled harvester for Trevor C. Cobbold (Agricultural) Ltd. Subsequent machines have been designed entirely by Everett and these larger machines increased Everett's reputation in the USA and Australasia, as orders were taken. This success, established a subsidiary company based in Orlando, Florida which was a gateway for the rapid expansion of business across the USA.

Mechanical Grading

Due to the specific requirements of supermarkets; consistent carrot sizes and quality means mechanical grading lines still remain at the forefront of Everett's business. Basic grading by diameter and length, complimented with specially designed equipment for stone removal, pre-cleaners and submerged washers, small and broken waste carrot removers and the development of a highly efficient brush washer (producing high standards of cleaning with minimal crop damage) achieves outstanding results. At Everett's all specific client requirements are met and at least one brush washer goes through their works at all times.

Hydro cooling

A highly efficient hydro cooling unit was initially created whilst working closely with the Fresh Produce Division of refrigeration specialist, Adcock. This work identified that previous hydro cooling models were using low volumes of water to pass over vegetables. Everett/Adcock units are designed to circulate four times more water than other models. Despite more water being used in the process, it is filtered and reused. There was a clear principle used to design this product, which was; the more water past the product, the more rapid and more even the heat removal process. Three hydro cooling units were first successfully used at Watton Produce and two smaller units have efficiently been installed on parsnip lines.

The company's expertise is in engineering and this combined with effective company policies has allowed the company to flourish, both rapidly and successfully throughout the years and into the future.
